Installation

Installed in minutes — one lead and it's done

The iPad plugs into the PA amplifier's line input, the same as any audio source. No network changes, no software on the amplifier.

iPads with a headphone jack (iPad 9th gen and earlier)

One 3.5 mm aux lead to the amplifier's line input. The charging port stays free for the normal wall charger.

iPads with USB-C only

Add a USB-C to 3.5 mm audio adapter (about $20 — we suggest the UGREEN one; for permanent installs choose the variant with a charging pass-through port so the iPad charges 24/7).

Which iPads work?

Anything on iPadOS 16 or newer: the standard iPad from 2017 onward, iPad mini/Air from 2019, and every iPad Pro. A second-hand 2017 iPad does the job perfectly.

FAQ

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Bells, the school's own music files, announcements and the iPhone remote all run entirely on your local network. Only Apple Music streaming needs an internet connection.

We have two campuses with two iPads — can one phone control both?

Yes. The Remote app remembers every station you pair with and switches between them in one tap — pairing codes are remembered per station.

What happens during school holidays?

Tap the dates on the holiday calendar once and those days stay completely silent. The timetable itself is untouched, so there's nothing to set back up.

Can anyone mess with the bells?

No. The iPad can be PIN-locked to the clock display, phone access requires the station's pairing code, and Apple's Guided Access can seal the device completely.

What data do you collect?

None. There are no accounts and no cloud — your schedules, recordings and settings stay on your own devices. See the privacy policy.
